Every fret, from your scale length.

A neck is a list of distances. Choose the scale and the count, and the frets are laid where a maker would cut them. Run a finger along the neck to read any of them.

The woods.

Two tops and three backs, and the maker will tell you which pair suits your hands before you choose.

  • Top Sitka spruce Bright and loud, with headroom for a hard right hand. TBC
  • Top Western red cedar Warm and quick to speak, made for fingers rather than a pick. TBC
  • Back and sides Philippine mahogany Dry, woody and direct; the note starts and stops where you put it. TBC
  • Back and sides Narra Cebu's own hardwood; a rounder low end than mahogany. TBC
  • Back and sides Indian rosewood Deep bass and a long ring; the concert voice. TBC

Six strings, and the pull you will feel.

A longer scale pulls harder at the same pitch. A light phosphor bronze set at the scale you chose above, in kilograms and pounds, with the pull drawn as a bar.

When your guitar would be ready.

One maker builds three guitars a month. A slot is a month on his bench; the guitar is strung four months after it.

The shop's date, the next open month and the strung month appear here when scripts run.
