The daluyong does not arrive like weather. It arrives like a decision. Amihan lashes herself to the outrigger her father left her, and rows toward the part of the sea the maps leave blank.
Below the storm there is no storm. There is a hall with no roof, lit by things that agreed to glow. The Tide has been waiting nine generations for someone to come down and apologize in person.
